It all started with the dress
It had been sitting in a yellowed box, carefully labeled “Wedding Dress and Veil” in cursive. And the time had come for me to care for it.
It is widely known that I had used family heirlooms as a cornerstone when planning my wedding details this past summer, and I continually encourage my brides to do the same. It was right around this time between planning how to do my hair and which bracelet to wear that my grandmother gave me the box. In it was the wedding dress that her mother both hand made and wore on her own wedding day all those years ago. It had never been formally preserved, so the color had turned and tiny tears had formed in inconspicuous places, but never the less I was enchanted. In fact, I was inspired.
And that was when I found JenzCarli. Here I am walking into a Panera with a yellowed box and a crazy idea, not sure what in God’s name I was doing. But from that very first consultation, Jens and Carley and I clicked. Over the course of the next two months, these two turned my dream into a reality. They sent out countless emails, phone calls, and contacts that would have overwhelmed any normal person (aka:me), and pulled together an incredible team. Our vision was cohesive: A 1920s inspired vintage shoot. Everything from the venue, to the flowers, accessories, hair, makeup, and jewelry emulated simple elegance. Creams, yellows, and golds accented by bold fall colors proved to be an impeccable color palette. I squealed like a little girl when I saw the finished product, and photographed literally every detail.
Today’s post presents the finalized images taken after all prep work was completed. Starting next Monday and continuing every Monday and Wednesday of the month of Decemeber, I will be featuring each vendor involved with additional images of their work, as well as a taste of the behind the scenes of how they made it all happen. None of this would have been possible without them. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and I know my great-grandmother would be proud to see what has become of her handiwork.
